Obstinacy no excuse: When I was 5 years old, my parents demanded in the future that I cross the busy street at the corner stoplight. Just to prove I could make my own decisions, I continued to resist that advice. Now that I no longer have a child’s logic, I realize to not get the COVID vaccine was just being obstinate. Drop the excuses and look at reality: 760,000 Americans lost to the virus, 97% of whom were unvaccinated.
What price success: Is it really so surprising that Chicago Blackhawks executives would hide the sexual misconduct of a fellow employee for fear it might upset team chemistry? After all, isn’t winning at all costs the central theme of the 21st century?
It’s American to fight back: Erica Ness, of Leaders of Kenosha, is distressed because citizens took matters into their own hands to try and prevent the looting and arson in their city last year because city leaders failed to do. Should citizens just sit back and watch it happen, like they did in Seattle and Portland? That would be disgraceful and un-American.
Committed to mediocrity: Last Sunday, the Chicago Bears went from second-rate to a national embarrassment, and loyal hometown fans began to second-guess the team’s apparent dedication to mediocrity.
Hollywood hypocrisy: I find it hypocritical for actor Alec Baldwin to attack the NRA because of guns and gun violence while he makes a very comfortable living on movies promoting guns and gun violence. But then again, he’s part of the Hollywood elite with their inflated egos who say one thing and do the opposite. Do as I say not as I do seems to be their motto.
Way to fix the Bears? Matt Nagy has tested positive for COVID-19. He needs two negative tests to return to the Bears. Can we schedule those for January?
Done with the Art Institute: After reading about the Art Institute firing all of its loyal workers, some of them having worked there for 20 and 30 years, I’m appalled and disgusted at this action. I will never go to the Art Institute again. I used to give monthly, I am not going to give them a penny. That is just an act of cowardice.
