Unbelievable numbers
Illegal immigrants are entering our country at the border of Texas in unbelievable numbers since Biden took office, and Vice President Harris was given the total responsibility of coming up with a plan to stop this. What the heck has she done in this regard? Nothing that I know of, that’s for sure. I thought in the beginning she was a good choice for vice president. However, since that time I have changed my mind. Many of these illegals might be very good people, but many of them come into our country and are thieves, robbers, murderers, drug people and the like. If they want to live here, they need to become citizens in the proper way like our elders did, not by just crossing the border because they think they have a right to our country and all the benefits they receive. Let their own country take care of their own problems, not give us theirs.
Brainwashed
Easy to figure out what happened with the 2020 election. Many people were brainwashed into a cult of lies and told they better be scared because the liberal Democrats were coming for them. All while the die-hard Trump Republicans were swindling them. Brainwashed they are. Sad.
What the what?
Thank you Mayor Taylor for moving the Waukegan Public Library forward and appointing new board members. Who is training these new members? After watching the Board of Trustees meeting last Wednesday, it sounds like the current interim director wants to. What the what? The man who has held the job on an interim basis and who probably wants the job is going to train his potential bosses? This is inappropriate, and I hope the city and fellow taxpayers agree.
This is not Mexico
Just a quick response to the Ann Taylor: I, and I am sure others, would also like to have translators available. The language in this country is English. Learn it. I will bet my bottom dollar that individual has lived here long enough if they needed a translator for that document. This is not Mexico.
Kind of grateful
How incredibly humane of Vernon Hills people to back off on panhandlers. Kind of grateful that panhandlers don’t take debit card donations or I’d be broke.
A contributing factor?
As a school administrator, I witnessed a gradual erosion in school discipline to the point that there were often no real consequences for student infractions. Adults modified their responses to sometimes-dangerous student behaviors. So, I’m wondering if this could be a contributing factor in the increased violent responses when these now adults are asked to conform to societal norms. For example, wear a mask in indoor public spaces or wait in line.
