There are Halloween events aplenty in East and West Dundee and Sleepy Hollow this year. Here are a few of the options…
“Coco” screening: The Oscar-winning animated feature “Coco,” which is set during a Día de los Muertos celebration, will be shown at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Fox River Valley Library District main library, 555 Barrington Ave., East Dundee. Halloween in the Hollow: This free outdoor gathering put on by the Sleepy Hollow Service Club will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, in Sabatino Park at Winmoor Drive and Thorobred Lane in Sleepy Hollow.
The event includes a chili cook-off, costume parade, pumpkin decorating, hayrides, a bonfire and maybe even an appearance by the Headless Horseman. A fireworks show will be presented a half hour after the event ends.

Halloween Party in Grafelman Park: The village of West Dundee will host a free family-friendly Halloween party from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday Oct. 30, at Grafelman Park, 112 N. 5th St.
There will be a trunk-or-treat-style candy giveaway, a costume contest and other activities. For more information, go to www.facebook.com/WestDundeeHalloweenParty.
Magic and Monsters Book Club: Neil Gaiman’s “The Graveyard Book” will be discussed in a program for children in grades 3 to 6 at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Randall Oaks Library, 500 Randall Road, West Dundee. To register or for more information, go to www.frvpld.info or call 847-428-3661.
Randall Oaks Zoo Fall Festival: Special weekend activities are offered from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 23-24 and Oct. 30-31, at Dundee Township Park District Randall Oaks Zoo, 1180 Randall Road, West Dundee.
Bonfires are held all day long, animal shows presented at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and hayrides for $3 per person. Plus, they’ll be selling pumpkins.
