
A 15-year-old boy who was fatally shot Thursday night on the Far South Side has been identified, officials said.
Marvell Cunningham, of the Park Manor neighborhood, was pronounced dead 7:46 p.m. at Comer Children’s Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Police originally identified him as a 14-year-old boy.
Cunningham was inside a home on the 9300 block of South Wallace Avenue in the Brainerd neighborhood at about 7:10 p.m. when an “unknown offender” shot him in the head, according to a Chicago police media notification.
A Friday autopsy determined he died of a gunshot wound to the head and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Police gave no further details. Area Two Detectives were investigating.
