We are not losing our country
This is in response to the unpatriotic idiot who said Democrats and independents should just stay home if they don’t vote Republican. What a fascist, totalitarian and communist thing to state. We are a democracy. All Americans should vote, no matter who or what party they vote for. That is democracy. If anything should change, it should be to get rid of the Electoral College voting system and let presidential candidates win on the majority and popular vote. This would make it more of a democratic process. It would truly be majority wins. I’d like to point out Trump lost the majority in both 2016 and 2020. I am a former Republican who is now an independent for the very reason that Republicans are becoming whiny, angry spoilsports because their totalitarian guy didn’t win. They are trying to place restrictions on our constitutional liberties and turn us into a totalitarian society. We’re not losing our country. Democracy is getting it back.
It would be nice to know
Why are we protecting criminals such as teenagers by not releasing their names to the public? This could be someone down the street or next to my house. It would be nice to know who is lurking next to me and ready to jump on me to rob or kill me.
Revitalize first
I see that Mayor Ann Taylor and Alderperson Lynn Florian are all in for, and publicly claiming that, the re-licensing of a tavern located in a vacant, dilapidated, eyesore of an old hotel on Green Bay Road as a major step forward for the city. Simultaneously, they are publicly deriding the obvious benefits of job creation and the annual revenue windfall that will be generated from a far west side, state of the art, destination resort, casino and entertainment center, with patrons coming from miles around. That will generate major, badly needed revenue to invest in the revitalization of the 100-year-old infrastructure in the older sections of Waukegan, including downtown and the Sheridan Road corridor. These are investments required to have any hope of attracting major league residential and commercial development to an area that is currently anchored by county and city government, lawyers, CLC, vacant buildings, and surface parking lots. Revitalize first and then they will come.
What are they doing?
When are we as Americans going to realize what this administration is doing to our country.

Just remember
The paper reported the board meeting approving the millions supposedly for COVID reasons. The only point we can make is there seems always to be a reason to spend taxpayer money in helping an Illegal community. So when you get your tax bill, just remember it’s supporting not U.S. citizen students, but the majority of Illegals.
OK to read the whole paper
I love Talk of the County. That’s how I found out that countries all over the world are donating and sending vaccines everywhere. Maybe it’s because it’s a pandemic? Talk of the County is actually like social media. Anonymity. Real news is in the newspaper, and on TV and radio. The people who work as reporters must do research to relay facts. Letters from the public or personal opinions are usually stated as such. So it’s OK to read the whole paper.
We need to share
This is in response to “Enough is enough.” I get tired of paying for everyone else too. I understand your anger, but have you considered what will happen to our struggling economy if we don’t share our vaccines with other countries? We fly everywhere. The pandemic will never be over. It will keep coming back from people who travel oversees, or those tourists from other countries who come to visit our great nation. Our economy will never recover fully unless we can get it under control in other poor countries. We need to share and insist on mandates for public health. Anyone coming into this country must be vaccinated or not be allowed in. This includes our fellow Americans.
