Norridge police said they are investigating a heist of more than $10,000 worth of designer fragrances from Ulta, 4115 N. Harlem Ave., on Sept. 25.
According to police, at 2:30 p.m., three men, wearing light gray hoodies, dark pants and face masks, walked into the store at 4115 N. Harlem Ave., and proceeded to the fragrance display, Norridge Det. Sgt. Brian Loughran said. The trio remove black plastic garbage bags from their hoodies and began filling the bags with Dior, Chanel and other expensive fragrances that were on the display case, Loughran said.
They fled the store in an unknown direction in the parking lot, Loughran said.
A video shows the three men removing the fragrance boxes from the shelves quickly and tossing them into the garbage bags, then making their way out toward the doors and exiting. After they left, some shoppers in the store started making comments indicating they were upset about what they had witnessed, the video showed.
The Ulta website lists prices for a large bottle of Dior’s J’Adore eau de parfum at $170, Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle eau de parfum at $138, and others in the $125 range and up. The most expensive are two Tom Ford fragrances, Ombre Leather parfum and Black Orchid parfum, which sell for $205.
Ulta’s corporate office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
