Naperville School District 203 and Indian Prairie School District 204 ranked among the top 60 in the country, according to Niche.com’s latest rankings of best school districts.
District 203 ranked 40th nationally in Niche.com’s 2022 rankings and Indian Prairie ranked 56th, a big jump for the district, which was 72nd on the 2021 list. District 203 dropped one spot from where they were last year.
On Niche.com state list, District 203 was cited as the 9th best school district in Illinois, down two from last year, and Indian Prairie was No. 11, up one from last year.
Both districts had overall A+ ratings from Niche.com.
Of the 10 highest-ranked public elementary schools in Illinois, eight of them were either part of District 203 or District 204:

Indian Prairie’s Spring Brook, Builta, Graham and Clow elementary schools came in first, third, seventh and 10th, respectively;
Naperville’s Meadow Glens, Ellsworth, Mill Street and River Woods elementary schools were listed as second, fifth, sixth and eighth, respectively.
Six of the 10 highest-ranked public middle/junior high schools in Illinois also were from one of the Naperville-area school districts:
Naperville’s Kennedy, Madison and Washington junior high schools were first, third and sixth, respectively;
Indian Prairie’s Scullen, Gregory, and Crone middle schools were fourth, fifth and seventh, respectively.
Similar to last year’s list, District 203 and 204’s five schools all placed in the top 30 public high schools in Illinois. Neuqua Valley came at 12; Metea Valley, 20; Naperville Central, 22; Naperville North, 23; and Waubonsie Valley, 29.
Four of the five high schools cracked Niche’s top 200 public high schools in the country list, with Neuqua Valley at 91; Metea Valley, 165; Naperville Central, 188; and Naperville North, 197.
Each year Niche.com ranks the top K-12 schools and schools districts in the United States based on data from the U.S. Department of Education and user ratings from current students, alumni and parents. For the 2022 list, SAT and ACT scores factored less into a school or school district’s performance.
Niche.com’s K-12 school rankings for 2022 included updated data for 94,491 public schools, 2,489 private schools and 11,846 school districts nationwide.
