
The Chicago White Sox recalled pitcher Jimmy Lambert from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, and the right-hander is the probable starter for Tuesday’s series opener in Oakland.
Lambert has appeared in three games (two starts) during three stints with the Sox this season, going 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA and eight strikeouts in eight innings. He is 3-3 with a 4.98 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 18 starts with the Knights.
In the corresponding move, the Sox optioned Matt Foster to Charlotte. Foster is 2-1 with a 6.06 ERA, one save, two holds and 39 strikeouts in 33 relief outings during four stints with the Sox in 2021.
