player ready...A 36-year-old man died and two others were taken to a hospital for treatment after a Wednesday night crash in the Cottage Grove Heights neighborhood, Chicago police said.
The man was driving a Ford sedan when it struck a Ford SUV in traffic about 10:50 p.m. in the 9500 block of South Dorchester Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11 p.m., according to information from the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The agency had not released the name of the 36-year-old as of Thursday morning.
Two men in the Ford SUV were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition. No additional information about the injuries they suffered was immediately available.
It wasn’t clear what led the sedan to strike the SUV.
The major accidents unit is investigating, officials said.
