Stay tuned

I stopped being a fan of professional sports when I became an adult. Eventually I realized that we are being played by the owners and athletes alike. They all say that fans are appreciated, but only because they need our money to live their lavish lifestyles. Whether they win or lose does not enrich my life one iota. Recently the Cubs unloaded some very hefty salaries of some one-time productive stars. That made sense. They weren’t worth their salaries. Quickly ownership sent season ticket holders a letter to encourage their loyalty to continue to spend money on the Cubs. All professional and many college teams play their fans like this. Stay tuned for the Bears next move.

Keep it up

Do you ever wonder if an act of kindness has been fulfilled? Today, I got the call. The man whose wallet I found and turned it into the police department had called me to thank me, that I had been so kind to stop what I was doing to go and save his day, and to pick up his wallet and to turn it into the police station. There are true good people in this world. Keep it up.

Get a job, or two

This is about the eviction ban ending. You know, this is a crock. People have been without having to pay rent for a year. How do they expect the landlords to survive in the building? They have bills to pay — electric, gas, mortgage all that stuff. I’m sorry. There are millions of jobs out there right now. They can go get one or two until they get caught up. At least make an effort to start paying. It’s time that they stop unemployment and all that. There’s work out there. Why should the government or us have to pay for it?

How sad is that?

I was just watching on TV an unvaccinated man who is on a ventilator fighting for his life who has to ask his son to give away his daughter at her wedding. How sad is that? And, all it would have taken is for the guy to listen to what all the doctors are saying and get vaccinated. A shame, but he decided, and hopefully he didn’t expose other members of his family because of his stupidity.

Duh

The whole world is begging for COVID vaccines, so why exactly are they begging for it? And the few USA objectors don’t want it? Duh.

Another plan abused

I am sitting here watching the POTUS. One of the main topics he is addressing is money for families and businesses. First question: Who’s paying for it? Money for families is great. There is no doubt there is a need. But how much of it is going to families that don’t. What are they using those funds for? And businesses? Without saying or mentioning names, I know of families and businesses that are using those funds not for their children and businesses. Do you? Where are the checks and balances monitoring where that money is going? Here is a novel idea. How about a debt card so it can be seen where the money is going? Oh, wait a minute. We do that with link, don’t we? Well, another plan abused.
