Crabb’s brother, Trevor, also a beach volleyball player, told NBC 4

that Taylor is “fine and healthy,” but the 29-year-old Hawaii native will not be able to compete.

USA Volleyball also confirmed a positive test, but did not identify the athlete.

Crabb was scheduled to make his Olympic debut, paired with four-time Olympian Jake Gibb.

Tri Bourne will replace Crabb before Sunday’s match against Italy, according to the Orange County Register.

Earlier this week, U.S. women’s gymnastics alternate Kara Eaker also tested positive. She and Leanne Wong, another alternate, were both placed in quarantine.

Crabb was supposed to be paired with four-time Olympian Jake Gibb.
