Infrastructure work needed: Congress is getting closer and closer to having an infrastructure deal. The bill is past due. Our roads and bridges are in bad shape. We are supposed to be the leader of the world, yet China and other countries have better transportation and bridges than us. The last few presidents did not have the time and patience to deal with it. It would create good jobs that would pay $15 an hour and more. I do not believe anyone who is getting unemployment benefits would turn down such an offer. Let’s get the job done.
Team needs to be rebuilt: Cubs, can you please send pitcher Jake Arrieta out to pasture. He’s done. Jake can’t hold a lead if he had a handle on it. Trade deadline is coming time so let’s get rid of all these high-priced players that aren’t producing. Tear it down and rebuild.
Show us the bills: (Cook County Board President) Toni Preckwinkle will be requesting a property tax hike for Cook County Forest Preserve District. Considering how bad our forest preserves have looked for years, how about she tells us where the existing money has gone and how our county tax money is being spent? Chances are she could not explain away the waste, patronage and ineffective court and jail systems that allow violent criminals to be released with little more than a slap on the wrist.
The Berry quandary: Gwen Berry won a bronze medal in the try outs for our American Olympic team, and then she turned her back on the national anthem and then she made all kinds of faces when it was being played and she says she will continue to do this. How can someone like that be allowed to be on the national Olympic team? Here’s the problem, if they dump her she’ll be automatically a hero by the liberal left and if they keep her there it will just be an insult to the country.
What’s the deal? After the vote on organizing a special committee to investigate what happened on Jan. 6, the spineless, cowardly Republicans voted no again, except for two of them. The fact that they could ever open their mouths and say they support Blue Lives Matter is a joke. These people don’t want to find out what happened, probably because many of them were complicit. When the rubber meets the road, they are out of there looking after their own behinds.
