It’s time people worked
This is about the Juneteenth holiday. Pritzker and all you other governors, I hope you never get in office again. This is a disgrace, and it’s racist. This is just so they can have another day off. It’s time people worked for a living.
Sweet yesterday
Seventy-five years ago this June, teenagers all over the country, including Waukegan, were graduating from high school. They were focused on proms and basketball teams. Waukegan had a winning one that year. For the first time in decades, these graduates were not facing an economic depression or devastating war. Their future was bright with promise. What we, the class of 1946 made of it, I will leave to history to record. Those of us still alive have the memories of sweet yesterday.

This is in reply to the person that wrote in as “Goofy.” You’re so proud of Facebook controlling what Trump says. Facebook is nothing but a monopoly. This man has more power than God, and the only people who can’t talk are the Republicans. You’re goofy, all right. Get a life.

Hello Americans. Don’t be too hard on yourselves. We just went through a pretty rough time. We survived the gut-punch of Trump and COVID, and we’re coming back fairly strong. Let’s keep everything going, keep a god head on our shoulders and power on through this.
Terribly embarrassed
On June 11, a group of us went to the Bonnie Brook fish fry and I was terribly embarrassed by the sight of the raggedy flag hanging right at the entrance. The American flag should not hang when it’s in tatters. I’m sure they have enough money to go buy an American-made American flag, which they should do right away.
