Residents and businesses located in unincorporated Kane County will be receiving their electric supply from Eligo Energy under a contract approved by the Kane County Board.
Chicago-based Eligo offered the most favorable terms through a competitive bid process, a county news release said. Meter read dates will begin in August.
“Eligo Energy will provide Kane County residents and small business owners with electric supply at exactly the ComEd rate, including the monthly variable portion,” the release said. “Additionally, the county will earn designation as an EPA Green Power Partner at zero added cost to residents and the county.”

The deal applies to all unincorporated areas other than Aurora and Dundee townships, which have their own aggregation programs.
