Advice for Chicago cops: In regards to the Chicago Police Department’s new no-chase policy on foot or by vehicle, if I was a Chicago cop I would only get out of my car for lunch or going home. Other than that, I would not chase anybody.
No more handouts: The government, stop giving away money to people who would rather be unemployed than working. Is the country better off financially because of the virus? I’m confused. Need an answer.
On destruction’s path: Maybe the mass killings in this country will abruptly end when we finally run out of bullets. Or maybe we’ll simply come up with another way to self-destruct — it seems that is what we do best now.

No one flies the flag: The flag represents unity of the people. We now have no unity of the people. Separate groups of people have their own beliefs. Our country is just falling apart into many different groups. On Memorial Day, I saw very little signs of unity. In 1959, when I bought my house, there were flags up and down the street on Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Fourth of July, etc. This year I saw four flags, two of which were mine.
Hairstyles not a state issue: Illinois, and Chicago in particular, has some huge problems to be resolved. That’s why I was shocked to read that our lawmakers have no better projects to work on than getting a dress code law passed for schools. Private and public schools will no longer be able to have dress codes for hair and clothing. As a parent that sends their kids to private schools, I wish the state of Illinois would butt out and take care of much more serious matters that need to be addressed. We pay tuition to private schools, so Illinois should mind its own business.
Right to opinions not equal: Why is it perfectly acceptable to malign any person who looks, acts or thinks differently than you with complete impunity, but totally intolerable to be irreverent toward the invisible and the supernatural without running the risk of losing cherished long-held friendships and incurring scathing derision?
Trump deserves no honor: The media still refers to the previous occupant of the White House as former President Trump. The disgraced and twice impeached president, who led an insurrection in his attempt to overthrow our government, should be referred to as ex-president Trump. And after serving time in federal prison, he will be referred to as former inmate and ex-con Donald Trump. So Donald, if the orange jumpsuit fits, wear it with pride.
Biden needs to stop spending: I agree with the Speak Out comment about President Biden going down in history as the worst president ever. He seems to be for open borders and different countries, like China. Mr. President, U.S. citizens and America should be first. And quit spending our money, our children’s money and grandchildren’s money.
