We don’t pick and choose: We are living in a melting pot. People come to America for a reason, to be able to worship and live in freedom. There was no requirement that a person be a specific color, religion, culture in order to come here. The language spoken is English, but it could have easily been French, Spanish, Italian or Norwegian.

Be kind to your pets: This is a reminder pet owners, not just dogs but all pet owners, that the blacktop on sunny days can be well over 100 degrees. So if you’re walking your pet, try to remember to walk them in the grass. I will do the same with my dog.

Being rewarded for wrong thing: Count me among the unfortunate ones who got an early vaccine shot simply because it was the right thing to do for myself as well as others. Who knew that holding out a little longer could result in a prize? But isn’t that typical of this great nation of ours? Rewarding the few at the expense of the many.
Shameful and dangerous: What the Republicans did by blocking the Jan. 6 commission is not only shameful, it’s dangerous. They are not allowing the American people to really find out the truth about what happened on that day. People like Rep. Kevin McCarthy and Sen. Mitch McConnell obviously are so scared of Donald Trump and his base that they are continuing to spread the big lie. I am so ashamed of these people and they should be ashamed of themselves.
Punish in order: So now I’m hearing about these rabid anti-maskers who are causing all kinds of trouble on airplanes. The latest news was some women punched a flight attendant, knocked out two of her teeth. What are they going to do, fine her? That’s baloney. They should lock them up in jail and they should be on a no-fly list and not just for that airline for at least a year or two. Maybe that would make them think once or twice about their insane lunacy about not wearing masks following directions from the TSA or in airplanes.
