Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills Elementary District 181 has hired an Oak Park school administrator as its new assistant superintendent of human resources, effective July 1.
The hiring of Gina Herrmann was approved by the District 181 Board Monday, and she will be replacing John Munch, who has accepted a job as superintendent in La Grange Elementary District 106.
Herrmann currently is senior director of human resources in Oak Park Elementary District 97, a job she has had for about two years. Before that, she worked in Naperville Unit District 203 as director of human resources and as director of career 203. In addition to her work in human resources, Herrmann has been a school principal, technology director and teacher. In addition to her role as an educator, she has served as a union president and lead negotiator.
“Ms. Herrmann is a highly regarded administrator with a considerable background in human resources in an educational setting,” District 181 Superintendent Hector Garcia said. “Her skills, professional HR experience and leadership will help our school district have a seamless transfer of leadership.”
District 181 Board President Margaret Kleber said she is excited to have Herrmann joining the district.
“Her skills and accomplishments are impressive, and we are eager to integrate her experience in leadership development into our existing program,” Kleber said.
Herrmann has a bachelor’s degree in Education from North Central College, a master’s degree in Teaching and Learning and in Educational Leadership. She also has a Human Resource Management Certification, a Human Capital Leadership in Education Certification and is a Doctoral Candidate at DePaul University, with expected conferral in 2021.
“I’m honored and incredibly excited to join the team at Hinsdale District 181,” Herrmann said. “The district’s greatest resource is its staff, and I look forward to providing strategic, innovative opportunities and services for the district’s personnel.
“I am proud to be a part of a student-focused district that ensures the academic achievement and social emotional well-being of all students.”
