Employers should mandate shots: A no jab, no job policy is not political, it is for health and safety. In a normal time, I would oppose these type of requirements on the basis of worker rights, but we are in exceptional times. These would be for the protection of co-workers and customers as well as self protection. In a free enterprise system, the employer can set conditions for employment as long as they do not violate certain federal and state laws. If the job is a union shop, there may be contract provisions at play. This type of requirement would seem not to violate any law. My advice is to do the patriotic thing and vaccinate up.
Worth a try? They say pet owners should be alert for coyotes. They say that banging on pans and jumping up and down and screaming and so forth will scare a coyote away. I wonder if that would work with politicians.
Can’t have both ways: OK, people, is there anyone else sick of the corrupt Democrats like Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer? They scream about the filibuster being racist. Of course, if you don’t follow their beliefs, you’re racist. In 2020, the democrats used the filibuster 327 times. So what does that tell you?
ID for everything but voting: Last weekend, a 70-year-old man was carded at Walgreens because he was buying a bottle of wine. I waited in line behind him and found it humorous. It’s their policy now that they card everyone. I then recalled how I had to show my driver’s license a month earlier when I donated blood. I also had to show my ID last year when I adopted a dog. The year before that, I had to show my ID in order to get borrowing rights at a nearby library. But when I go to vote, I just say my name at the table and the people believe I am who I say I am. Seems pretty crazy, no?
Bad guys will get guns: What many people doesn’t seem to understand is that even with strict gun laws, the bad guys will always find a way to get guns. Does anyone really think that all these shootings in Chicago were done by people with legally purchased weapons?
