The Chicago Sky — and the rest of the WNBA — will have a new look this season.

In collaboration with Nike, the WNBA on Thursday unveiled three new uniforms for all 12 teams as it enters its 25th season: the Heroine, Explorer and Rebel editions.

The Sky’s Heroine and Explorer uniforms include vertical stripes. “The 10×10 pinstripe grid represents Chicago’s city blocks and the 5-on-5 players on the court,” the Sky said in a statement.

The Heroine uniforms are white with gray pinstripes and “Sky” on the jersey fronts in black letters, outlined in blue and yellow. The Explorer uniforms are black with “Chicago” on the fronts of the jerseys in blue lettering outlined in yellow and white.

The Rebel uniforms are sky blue with “shattered lines” in lighter blue. The jerseys have “Chitown” on the fronts in white lettering with a white star between the “I” and “T.”

All the team’s uniforms include the Nike swoosh and logos of the Sky’s sponsors, Magellan and University of Chicago Medicine.

They Sky are entering their 16th season in the WNBA. They finished 12-10 and in first place in the Eastern Conference in the 22-game, pandemic-shortened 2020 season, which was played at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. The sixth-seeded Sky lost to the Connecticut Sun in a single-elimination playoff game.

The Sky signed Candace Parker, a Naperville native and two-time WNBA MVP, in the offseason. Parker, who turns 35 on April 19, was a five-time All-Star in 13 seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks.
