A Chicago man has been arrested on charges related to the Jan. 11 shooting of a DeKalb man during an attempted armed robbery in East Dundee, village police said in a post on the department’s Facebook page.

Trevon Duffie, 17, has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated battery great bodily harm, attempted armed robbery with a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, the post said.

All the counts are felonies and have been approved by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Duffie is accused of shooting the 19-year-old man while attempting to rob him as they sat in a car in the 100 block of Dundee Avenue, police said.

East Dundee officers worked with the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force and the Carpentersville, Lincolnwood and Oak Park police departments to identify the suspect, the post said.
