It took children in Indian Head Park only a couple of minutes to gather more than 3,000 plastic eggs scattered across Blackhawk Park Saturday.
Village officials and volunteers had put out the candy-filled eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt.

More than 250 people came, estimated Village Trustees Amy Jo Wittenberg and Brenda O’Laughlin, who organized the event.
About half the eggs had been bought pre-filled, and the rest, O’Laughlin said, her mother filled, a chore she enjoys.

The park, located at Acacia and Cascade drives, was divided into four sections for children in four different age groups to look for eggs. Most children wore masks per COVID-19 protocol.
Families also could enjoy pony rides in the park and a traveling petting zoo, that included sheep, a goat and a llama, on a sunny spring day when the temperature neared 70 degrees.
