Honda is offering a new Special Edition for its 2021 Honda Pilot.
The Pilot Special Edition has a standard nine-speed transmission with paddle shifters, standard dual-zone climate control and a new Platinum Pearl color available for the Black Edition.
The Special Edition builds in the Pilot’s EX-L trim, which includes leather seats, second-row sunshades and a power driver’s seat with two-position memory settings, Honda said.
It adds 20-inch black wheels, roof rails, frill and front/rear skid garnishes, a foot-activated hands-free access power tailgate and wireless phone charger, Honda said.
The MSRP for the Special Edition two-wheel drive is $38,960, while the all-wheel drive starts at $40,960.
The 2021 Pilot LX trim starts at $32,250, excluding destination and handling. That is with two-wheel drive and standard safety and driver-assistance technology.
The LX with Honda’s intelligent variable torque management system and all-wheel drive starts at $34,250.
The torque management system is standard on all-wheel drive models, using an electronically controlled, hydraulically actuated rear differential to apportion engine torque between the front and rear axles, Honda said, as well as between the left and right rear wheels.
The 2021 Honda Pilot has a V6 engine, offering 280 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque. It is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The Pilot offers eight seating positions, with optional second-row captain’s chairs and available three-person capacity in the second and third rows.
There is an available 8-inch touchscreen audio system, in-vehicle public address system, wireless smartphone charging and hands-free access power tailgate.
The 2021 Pilot is made at Honda’s Lincoln, Alabama manufacturing plant. Its V6 engine is also manufactured in Alabama, Honda said.
