El púgil mexicano Julio César Martínez confirmó en su cuenta de Instagram que no podrá enfrentar al boricua McWilliams Arroyo como se tenía planeado para este 27 de febrero en el Hard Rock Stadium de Miami, en donde buscaba defender su cinturón de peso mosca del CMB.
La pelea coestelar era parte de la velada liderada por el combate entre Saúl Álvarez y Avni Yildirim.
Esta sería la tercera vez en dos años que no logra concretar un combate.
“Pues más que nada quiero que lo sepan por [mí] la verdad estoy muy triste muy decepcionado”, inició su publicación de Instagram el jueves. “Se pospuso un mes la pelea y voy a regresar a buscar ese nocaut les pido una disculpa a todos y primero [Dios] hay campeón para rato”.
‘El Rey’ Martínez (17-1, 13 KOs, 1 NC) se mostró apenado con la situación y pidió disculpas a la afición y a su equipo de trabajo. El peleador mexicano no detalló la causa de la cancelación del combate, pero en las fotos se ve su mano derecha aparentemente lastimada y luego vendada.
