According to The Hollywood Reporter, the British actor has landed a lead role in Paramount’s forthcoming “Dungeons & Dragons” film, joining a cast including Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Justice Smith.

Based on Hasbro’s popular role-playing fantasy game of the same name where players create their own characters to progress through imaginary medieval worlds, the film will be directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley — the creative team behind 2018’s sleeper hit “Game Night.”

Dungeons & Dragons was previously adapted by New Line in 2000 with a film starring Jeremy Irons.

Since then, two other Gerry Lively-helmed films have surfaced, 2005’s made-for-TV “Wrath of the Dragon God” and 2012’s straight-to-DVD “The Book of Vile Darkness.”

No further information on character or plot points are available.
