Panda Pizza, which specializes in Asian fusion pizza, recently opened its doors in the old Subway sandwich shop at 7211 W. 63rd St. in southwest suburban Summit.
Asian fusion pizza is a concept in which their pizzas have toppings that you would normally only find at a Chinese restaurant, such as egg foo young, orange chicken and crab Rangoon.
One of the owners, Billy Chen, comes from a family that owns at least a dozen Chinese restaurants. He and co-owner Dan Damaschke wanted something different in a pizza and they set the bar high.
They have a set menu for various types of Asian fusion pizzas, but you can also build your own with various ingredients and sauces.
