Monday (Dec. 21) was the deadline for election filings in the Burr Ridge village elections next year.

Those elections will be April 6.

Incumbent Mayor Gary Grasso is running unopposed and Sue Schaus is the only candidate to file for village clerk. Longtime clerk Karen Thomas retired this year after 40 years at the job.

Five candidates for trustee filed for three open seats. Those candidates include incumbents Guy Franzese, Zach Mottl and Anita Mital. The newcomers are Russell Smith and Elena Galinski.
