This is not what dreams are made of.
Hilary Duff revealed Wednesday that a planned reboot of “Lizzie McGuire” will not be completed.
“Sadly & despite everyone’s best efforts, it isn’t going to happen,” Duff, 33, wrote in an Instagram post. “I want any reboot of ‘Lizzie’ to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today. It’s what the character deserves.”

The project was supposed to appear on Disney+, with most of the original cast returning, but hit the rocks early this year over creative differences.
Duff reportedly wanted the reboot to be less kid-friendly than the original series that ran on Disney Channel from 2001-2004.

“I’d be doing a disservice to everyone by limiting the realities of a 30-year-old’s journey to live under the ceiling of a PG rating,” Duff wrote in a late-February post. “It would be a dream if Disney would let us move the show to Hulu, if they were interested, and I could bring this beloved character to life again.”
But, as Duff wrote in Wednesday’s post, “This is what 2020’s made of.”
