The Kardashian sisters may have at long last gotten the COVID memo.
After two of the reality stars threw mega bashes during a pandemic – Kim Kardashian a 40th birthday party on a private island, and Kendall Jenner a well-attended, Halloween-themed 25th birthday party a few weeks ago – a third is finally acknowledging that maybe it’s not the best idea.

Khloe has canceled Christmas.
“The Covid cases are getting out of control in CA,” she tweeted Sunday. “So we decided that we’re not doing a Christmas Eve party this year. It’s the first time we will not be having a Christmas Eve party since 1978, I believe. Health and safety first though! Taking this pandemic seriously is a must.”

As coronavirus cases soar across the U.S. and another stay-at-home order takes effect in California due to a lack of ICU beds, the reality TV stars are kowtowing to the realities of the pandemic. Sunday saw a 30,075 increase in cases statewide, to more than 1.3 million, with nearly 20,000 deaths, according to the California Department of Public Health.
As recently as mid-November, the sisters were avowing fealty to their annual Christmas soiree, though they did allow as how it would be much smaller than prior years. Khloe – who famously suffered through a bout of coronavirus earlier this year, as did her brother-in-law Kanye West – has promised a bang-up bash for next year, when “COVID better be gone.”
And the coronavirus pandemic did not stop the family from gathering en masse last Thursday, when they gathered in Lake Tahoe for a winter getaway that doubled as a film shoot for “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” which will air its 20th and final season
