Rupert Grint, who played the Ron Weasley bestie to Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter in the wizarding franchise, is a dad – and has taken to Instagram to showcase his delight.
The ginger-haired actor, 31, debuted on the platform with a sheepish nod to ostensibly being late to the Insta-party, and revealed his 8-month-old daughter’s name.
“Hey Instagram….only 10 years late, but here I am,” he wrote on Tuesday. “Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint. Stay safe, Rupert.”
Grint’s profile pic is a shot of Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall giving young Weasley a kiss on the cheek.
At least one Potter peep responded to the Wednesday news that Grint delivered on Tuesday.
“Welcome Weasley, it’s about time. Love to Wednesday xx,” wrote Tom Felton, who played Potter’s schoolmate nemesis, Draco Malfoy, in the series.

Grint and girlfriend Georgia Groome, 28, announced last April that they were expecting their first child. Groome gave birth to their daughter the following month, the pair asking for privacy “at this very special time.”
He currently stars in the Apple TV+ series “Servant.”
