The Chicago Bears placed backup safety Deon Bush on the reserve/COVID-19 list and ruled him out for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
NFL Network reported Bush has not tested positive but was in close contact with someone outside of the team who had. He traveled with the team to Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday but was quarantining away from the team after learning of the contact.
The reserve/COVID-19 list is for players who either have tested positive or who have been in close contact with someone who has. Bush is the fourth Bears player to go on the list this week.
Offensive tackle Jason Spriggs tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, and right guard Germain Ifedi also went on the list because he had close contact with Spriggs. Ifedi has since been activated after being cleared to play Friday.
The Bears closed their team facilities and canceled practice Thursday after center Cody Whitehair tested positive Thursday. But they resumed team activities Friday after the rest of the players’ tests came back negative.
