An Elgin man accused of making 50 phone calls to a woman with whom he’d once had a relationship has been charged with felony stalking, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office said.

Antonio O. Neal Jr., 31, of the 2000 block of Muirfield Circle, also reportedly sent multiple text messages, kicked on the woman’s house door and eventually got into her vehicle while she was in it, a state’s attorney’s news release said.

The incidents started the morning off Nov. 1, and culminated that night when Neal apparently noticed the victim smoking in her car and got in on the passenger seat, the release said. He made her drive to the back of the driveway so the police would not see him, the release said.

After he left, he called and texted the victim multiple times, the release said.

Neal has been charged with two counts of stalking, a class 4 felony, and one count of vehicular invasion, a class 1 felony.

Neal is being held on $125,000 bail at the Kane County jail. If he is able to pay the $12,500 bond, he must turn over all of his guns and FOID card and is prohibited from having any contact with the victim.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 17.
