Noonan, a Bloomingdale police officer, was first elected to the board in 2012, said he sought reelection because he feels a career in public service is one of the most honorable professions that a person can undertake.

Kelly, 71, of Downers Grove, is a Downers Grove Township Trustee, and Tyson-Dunne is a 43-year-old Lombard resident who work as chief of staff for State Rep. Deb Conroy of the 46th District.

The two candidates expressed very different views before the election on the recent, controversial decision by the forest preserve district board to allow for the removal of the Graue Mill dam.

Kelly said she believes the dam should remain in place and other alternatives, other than removal, should be considered.

Tyson-Dunne said she agrees with the decision made by the board to remove the dam, saying she believes the action will help with flooding issues and all species of fish will do better.
