Nobody was apparently hurt after a car went off the roadway early Tuesday and slammed into a Tinley Park home, sparking a large fire, according to police.
Tinley Park firefighters and fire departments from surrounding communities worked to extinguish a blaze shortly before 1 a.m. in the 7600 block of West 167th Street after a vehicle heading west on 167th crashed into the garage of home, police said.
Police as of Tuesday afternoon said they still were unsure who owns the vehicle and that no charges had yet been filed.
The fire, which spread to an adjacent home, was apparently sparked when the vehicle that went off the road hit another vehicle inside the garage, according to police.

The driver of the vehicle apparently left the scene before police and firefighters arrived. None of the occupants of the homes involved was injured.
Police Tuesday afternoon had not yet been able to positively identify the owner of the vehicle, such as through its vehicle identification number, due to the heavy damage, said police Chief Matthew Walsh.
The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and traveled some 100 yards, through a fence, before hitting the home, which was not occupied, according to police. The fire spread to a home directly east, but the owner of that home was able to escape unharmed.

Fire departments from Frankfort, Mokena, Oak Forest as well as the Orland Fire Protection District assisted Tinley Park firefighters in bringing the blaze under control in about 30 minutes, according to the fire department, which continues to investigate.
Nicor gas assisted with controlling a natural gas leak at the home next to the one that was hit, according to the department.
Police ask anyone with information regarding the crash to contact investigators at 708-532-9111.
