Chef Stephanie Izard, owner of popular Chicago restaurants including Girl & the Goat, is bringing her meal kits and outdoor grilling to Naperville’s Solemn Oath Brewery Friday.

The James Beard Award-winning Izard will be grilling in the beer garden Solemn Oath constructed this year in the parking lot outside its building at 1661 Quincy Ave, a news release from Izard’s team said. The beer garden opens and grilling begins at noon.

Friday will mark the second time Izard, a former champion on the TV show “Top Chef,” is bringing her “Girl & the Goat-ceries” meal kits and grilling to Solemn Oath, as she was previously there in May.

Fish tacos and other snacks including avocado dip and masa chips, elotes and grilled Korean chicken wings will be available from the grill.

The curated meal kits include ingredients, sauces and recipes prepped by Izard, and the dishes can be made all at once, or throughout the long weekend, the news release said.

This weekend’s meal kit includes marinated Kalbi beef ribs, grilled herb shrimp, Korean marinated chicken wings and goat sausage satays with pitas and herb yogurt, the news release said. The kit also includes an heirloom tomato salad, a Klug Farm grape pie kit and snacks like pimento cheese, avocado dip and masa chips.

In addition to the meal kits, people can choose to order ready-to-bake items from the Little Goat Bakery as well as house made sausages and meats. Those interested can order meal kits and other items for pickup in advance of the Friday event.

Solemn Oath at noon Friday will also release two new collaboration beers, one made with Chicago’s Hopewell Brewingcq and another made with Lemont-based Pollyanna Brewing.

The Hopewell collaboration is a cherry Saison called What We Will. The beer pays homage to Chicago’s Haymarket Affair of 1886, which led to modern workers’ rights.

“This beer is also a dedication to the power of peaceful protest and recognition for advocates of nonviolent resistance throughout history and in our modern world,” a post on Solemn Oath’s Instagram account reads. “We can do better.”

The Pollyanna collaboration is a dank West Coast IPA called Full Moon Looks.

It’s been important for many businesses, including breweries, to grow closer amid the coronavirus pandemic, said John Barley, founder of Solemn Oath.

“The Chicagoland brewery culture here is awesome, and it’s been cool to be able to work on projects with the guys from Hopewell and Pollyanna,” Barley said. “It’s a lot of fun to work on projects like this right now, and it’s important to get more connected with friends in the Chicagoland community.”
