Anyone who needs food can pick up a box at a drive-through distribution event in Franklin Park Saturday.
The event is open to residents and community members from the surrounding area, and there are no restrictions, said Dafne Henriquez, assistant to Mayor Barrett Pedersen. The Village of Franklin Park is partnering with House of Restoration, an Elgin-based mission organization.
Residents can drive up to the Franklin Park Metra Lot, at 9280 Belmont Avenue, and volunteers will place boxes of fresh and non-perishable food in their cars. The event begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.
