A Lynwood woman was fatally shot during a middle-of-the-night home invasion last week, police said.

Shanetta Trammell, 26, died early Wednesday morning after being shot in the back inside her Terrace Avenue apartment shortly after 2 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Lynwood police declined to release any information about the shooting, except to say that Trammell’s slaying is believed to have been an isolated incident.

The agency is investigating the killing with the assistance of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.
