Roadside zookeeper Jeff Lowe is accused of multiple counts of willful animal welfare violations including failure to get proper medical care for his tigers, according to USA Today.

The alleged violations reportedly date back to 2017 and could carry civil penalties.

Lowe, who denied the accusations, is said to have falsified veterinary records for animals kept at his Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is asking that Lowe’s exhibitor’s license be revoked in addition to the invocation of monetary penalties. His license is currently under a three-week suspension.

The report said that in 2018 Lowe was fined $2,500 for operating without a license in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was also hit with a suspended jail sentence, USA Today said.

Lowe said last week that he’d planned to shut down his Oklahoma wildlife park, but would fight the charges anyway.

He said on social media that going up against the USDA would be “fun.”
