A female’s decomposed body was discovered late Thursday inside a second-floor apartment in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood.
Police found the body about 10:58 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Chappel Avenue after someone at the apartment complex called police to request a well-being check, officers said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not release information on the identity of the person and it wasn’t clear if an autopsy was scheduled for Friday. It wasn’t clear how old the person was.
Detectives were conducting a death investigation, because it wasn’t clear how the person died.
