A reduction of lanes on a short stretch of 31st Street in Oak Brook, from two to one in both directions, begins this week and is scheduled to continue through September to allow for Nicor gas main relocation work, according to the Illinois Tollway.
On 31st Street at I-294 and continuing to near Hunt Club Drive, westbound traffic is scheduled to shift to one lane on the inside, while eastbound traffic will use one other lane.
This work is necessary to accommodate the Illinois Tollway Central Tri-State Tollway Project, according to the Illinois Tollway. Nicor is coordinating construction in the area with the Illinois Tollway and the Village of Oak Brook.
