A Southwest Side alderman is calling on residents to help catch whomever scrawled racist graffiti on the front of a preschool in the Brighton Park neighborhood.
Ald. Raymond Lopez, 15th, said he learned about the incident on Sunday. Someone wrote a racial slur in permanent marker on the front of the Kiddy Kare Preschool & Kindergarten near the corner of 44th Street and Kedzie Avenue, Lopez said Monday in a news release.

The business has been hit with graffiti before, Lopez said in the news release.
“We have seen so many diverse people come together for racial equality and justice over the past weeks. However, we know there are those unwilling to live peacefully with their neighbors,” Lopez said in the release. “Their hate is a poison to our future. It must be confronted and called out every time they seek to inspire others to join in their hatred for others.”
