Two people were shot on the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway on Saturday afternoon, Illinois State Police said.
The shooting happened shortly before 5 p.m. in the local lanes near 59th Street, ISP said in a statement.
Two people were taken to hospitals with “serious but non life-threatening injuries sustained from gunfire,” ISP said.
Southbound lanes were opened back up as of 8:10 p.m., state police said.
Earlier, all southbound lanes were closed in that area, and traffic was being diverted to the express lanes.
