There isn’t much glee in this corner.
“Glee” alumni, including cast and crew members who worked on the hit musical series, are speaking out about the recent allegations that star Lea Michele made life on the show “a living hell” for co-star Samantha Ware.
Late Wednesday, following 33-year-old Michele’s acknowledgement of the accusations, Amber Riley — who starred as Mercedes Jones — spoke about the matter on journalist Danielle Young’s Instagram Live.

While Riley, who, like Ware, is black, said she’s “very proud” of Ware for speaking up, the 33-year-old singer added, “I am not going to say that Lea Michele is racist. That’s not what I’m saying.”
She went on to describe the experiences of other black actors and actresses who were told they were expendable and were allegedly “terrorized” by a white female lead on their sets.
Though she doesn’t “give a s–t about this Lea Michele thing,” Riley wished the Broadway alumnus well and said she wants people to instead focus on Black Lives Matter: “People are out here dying. Being murdered by police.”
Heather Morris, who played Brittany S. Pierce on the show, also revealed Wednesday she had issues with Michele.
“I would never wish for hate to be spread to anyone else. With that said, was she unpleasant to work with? Very much so,” Morris tweeted. “For Lea to treat others with the disrespect that she did for as long as she did, I believe she SHOULD be called out.”
The 33-year-old added that bystanders, like herself, were also to blame “because to allow it to go on for so long without speaking out is something else we’re learning along with the rest of society.”
“At the current moment its [sic] implied that she is a racist and although I cannot comment on her beliefs, I think we’re assuming,” Morris continued. “And you know what happens when we all assume…”
Pakistani actor Iqbal Theba, who played Principal Figgins, took to Twitter to clarify he “was never mistreated by [Michele]. And if some of the cast were treated badly then she has apologized for it which is wonderful.
“But being called a racist is too heavy & unfair a burden 4 most,” he said, before urging people to “be compassionate & responsible before we accuse anyone of this horrible thing called racism.”
In a series of since-deleted tweets, former “Glee” producer Marti Noxon explained she’s “all for calling out bad behavior” but pointed to “LOTS of bad actors” on the series “who were NOT women,” People reports.
“People in the industry know who I’m talking about. Why aren’t we calling them out?” she asked.
The allegations came to light Monday when Ware, who played Jane Hayward over 11 episodes, responded to Michele’s “#BlackLivesMatter” tweet from last Friday and accused her of having made the former’s time on the show “a living hell.”
“I believe you told everyone that if you had the opportunity you would ‘s–t in my wig!’ amongst other traumatic micgroaggressions that made me question a career in Hollywood,” Ware tweeted.
This week, meal kit delivery service HelloFresh ended its partnership with Michele as the company was “disheartened and disappointed” to hear the accusations.
