Bond was set at $150,000 Wednesday for a Bellwood man accused of illegally videotaping three girls at a Hinsdale home at which he was hired to do construction work in November 2019, according to a release from the DuPage County State’s Attorney.

Jose Gaspar, 45, of the 2600 block of St. Charles Road, was charged with one count of unauthorized videotaping, residence, a Class 4 felony, and two counts of unauthorized video taping a person under 18, a Class 3 felony.

Gaspar is accused of taking dozens of photographs and video recordings of the homeowner’s daughters, ages 15 and 22, along with a 16-year-old girl, without their consent, while they were showering. He reportedly took the photographs and videos while standing outside the home

Someone who knew Gaspar became aware of the photographs and videos and alerted a family member of the sisters, who told their father, who in turn immediately called the Hinsdale Police Department, according to the release.

“The allegations against Mr. Gaspar are extremely disturbing.” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said. “Fortunately, his alleged actions were uncovered and he now finds himself facing felony charges.”

Gaspar’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 8, for arraignment in front of Judge John Kinsella.
