Basketball great Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa, broke hearts all over again in an Instagram post paying tribute to her late husband and the senselessness of his death on Jan. 26 in a helicopter crash.

Monday was Mamba Day, named after Kobe’s last sign-off after his last game before retirement.

“Mamba out,” he said after scoring 60 points, making 22 of 50 shots he took, and earning 22 points at halftime on 20 shots, as USA Today reported at the time.

That was his last game, on April 13, 2016, and the beginning of his retirement. His “Mamba out” signoff inspired Nike and the Lakers to designate April 13 as “Mamba Day,” according to USA Today.

After posting heartwarming photos of her two daughters in pre-Easter celebrations over the weekend – their first major holiday without the NBA great and their daughter, who was also killed – Vanessa Bryant took to Instagram again, only in an outpouring of grief.

The retired Los Angeles Lakers great and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria “Gigi” Onore were among the nine victims, all of whom perished.

Since then Vanessa Bryant has been picking up the pieces with their remaining three children – Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, 9 months.

On Saturday she posted video of them celebrating the family’s first major holiday without the two. And a day later there was an outpouring of grief over the times they would never share.

“My husband worked his ass off for 20 years,” Vanessa Bryant wrote on Instagram. “Gave it his all. All he wanted was to spend time with our girls and me to make up for lost time. He wanted to be there for every single milestone and special moment in our girls’ lives.”

But it was not to be, as she eloquently bemoaned.

“He only got to enjoy 3 years and 9 months of retirement,” Vanessa Bryant wrote. “We had 2 more daughters, he won an Oscar, he opened Granity studios, he became a 5x best selling author and coached Gianna’s basketball team in that time. She worked hard and gave her all 7 days a week just like her daddy.”

The day they were killed, they were heading in bad weather to a practice game that Gigi was in. Vanessa now revisits that morning over and over.

“I wish I could back to that morning, every day,” she wrote. “I wish they had a normal local game on 1/26. Life truly isn’t fair. This is just senseless.”

The post includes a highlight reel of the athlete’s career.

In response to the outpouring of grief came an outpouring of love.

“I’m so sorry Vanessa,” replied actress Jessica Alba.

“So true… we are so grateful for everything he put into the world and are grateful to you for letting us in on your journey,” replied “Gray’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo. “We love you.”
