A 14-year-old girl was shot while inside her home on the 15200 block of Center Avenue in Harvey on Thursday night, police chief Robert Collins said.

The girl sustained a graze wound to her head and was treated an released the same night.

Collins said the weapon was fired from outside the home about 8:45 p.m.

No one is in custody and no motive has been discovered, he said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 708-331-3030.

Last September, 11-year-old Kentayvia Blackful was killed by a stray bullet that entered her home in Harvey.
