The Fifty-50 Restaurant Group is taking over the Restaurant Workers Relief Center. The center, which operated out of Big Star in Wicker Park, will instead operate out of West Town Bakery & Diner (1916 W. Chicago Ave.), beginning Tuesday. One Off Hospitality Group, which owns Big Star, closed all its restaurants for delivery and pickup Saturday

.

The center, in partnership with the LEE Initiative (created by Louisville chef Edward Lee) and Maker’s Mark, will serve hundreds of meals, packaged with household essentials, to in-need restaurant-industry workers.

Workers will be able to pick up packages from 4-6:30 p.m. daily. Proof of prior restaurant employment (a pay stub) required.

Sister property The Fifty/50 (2047 W. Division St.), as previously reported, will continue to serve 400 meals from 4-6:30 p.m Tuesday-Sunday to anyone in need.

Menus will be the same at both places. Meals are being prepared by Fifty/50 Group chefs Chris Teixeira, Martin Arellano, Nate Hennsler, Christo Vlahos and other teammates.
