Some folks are looking for releaf from the coronavirus scare.

As Americans stock their fridges and cupboards and hunker down at home amid the COVID-19 crisis, many people also have rushed to reefer.

Pot sales have surged in locales with legal markets including Alaska, California, Nevada and Oregon, according to USA Today.

“Apparently people need weed and toilet paper, that I am sure of,” Wanda James, a 56-year-old dispensary owner in Denver, told the newspaper. She added that her store saw about 50% more customers Monday than on an average day. “We have a huge uptick of people and they’re purchasing larger amounts of cannabis.”

The count of confirmed coronavirus cases in the U.S. has topped 6,400, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. Worldwide, the figure was nearing 200,000 on Tuesday night.
