A 68-year-old Alsip man was killed in a crash on Interstate 94 Thursday night, according to Illinois State Police.
Timothy O. Schackelford was driving northbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his 2008 Infiniti sedan on the Stony Island feeder ramp south of 95th Street, police said.

His vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree about 6:33 p.m.
Schackelford wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, police said.
He was rushed to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 9:33 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Police are investigating the crash, according to authorities.
