Three South Side men are expected in court Saturday after being charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 44-year-old man on Thursday afternoon in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

A still-unidentified 44-year-old man was sitting in his black vehicle in the 1100 block of North Pulaski Road around 2:55 p.m. Thursday. Police said a witness spotted a silver car being driven by 32-year-old Zarrick Green approach, and someone inside it fired multiple times into the black car, police said.

The victim was shot several times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His name was not being made public immediately.

The three assailants, including a fourth suspect, sped away in the vehicle and then fled on foot when the vehicle became disabled, police said. Police caught up with them, confiscated two guns and they were placed into custody.

Darvell Dixon, 26, and Levale Dixon, 32, of Chicago’s South Side, were both charged with murder, and Green, of Riverdale, was charged with aggravated fleeing and multiple traffic violations, police said.

Levale Dixon, 32, of the 6600 block of South Wolcott Avenue, was one of three men charged charged in connection with a fatal shooting on March 5, 2020, in the 1100 block of North Pulaski Road that claimed the life of a 44-year-old man, Chicago police said.
