Q: How did you get started in your line of work?
A: I started visiting some countries in South America, the Caribbean and Africa and saw there was a need to connect American companies. I thought American companies should be more competitive in those markets and I saw the Chinese companies were very active in the places that I went. I thought some American companies might also be interested in doing things like renewable energy and other kinds of investments in those countries.
Q: What book are you reading right now?
A: I’m reading “The State of Africa.” It is a book that has to do with post-colonial Africa and what happened after the African countries received independence. It also deals with the struggle for independence and all of the negotiations that occurred in countries like South Africa.
